Cosmo is my 100+ pound Great Dane/Doberman mix. He’s larger than a full grown Doberman yet smaller than a full grown Great Dane. He’s about a year and a half old so he’s still got some growing to do because Great Dane’s aren’t full grown until they get to be about 3 years old. With all that being said let me begin; every night Cosmo sleeps with me. Sometimes he starts out in a tiny ball, sometimes he starts out laying completely on top of me, sometimes he lays sideways in the middle leaving me with no room, and sometimes he starts out sprawled out. That’s right all four of Cosmo’s two and a half foot legs completely stretched out plus the size of his body leaving me with probably a foot of room for me to lay on my queen size bed. No matter what position he starts out in he always ends up sprawled out. In a few years I will have extreme back problems most likely because of the love I have for my dog. So the point of this post. Cosmo is a magician: from getting things off of a shelf that is double his height to being able to swallow an entire large size turkey brining bag in seconds and still being able to poop it out that same day still intact with ease.
This dog is able to steal my entire blanket, wad it up and completely lay on the whole thing while I’m asleep USING IT or in the split second when I’m going to get a bowl of cereal. I get up at least once a night to get a bowl of cereal, Cosmo being the lazy puppy he is he doesn’t follow me unless I’m not back in less than 5 minutes then he’ll come looking for me. He’s too lazy to get out of bed but he can move around and do some kind of magic to inconvenience my sleep. I know I’m not the only one who deals with the struggle of loving my baby too much.
